IEMA gets an ELP Laser record player.

ΙΕΜΑ just got an ELP Laser record player. The ELP is a brand new gramophone record player constructed in Japan, that can read analog vynil records of 78 tracks with a 5 rays laser beam instead of the common stylus. ELP provides the ideal way of analog records' reproduction, as due to its laser head the reading attrition is null and the sound quality remarkably beyond that of any conventional equipment. The purchase of the ELP (total cost of 17.000eur) comes under the Center for Digitization that is being developed by IEMA within the context of the program "Digitization and Promotion of Greek Music" (sponsored by the Information Society and the Ministry of Culture). IEMA is the sole possessor of a laser record player in Greece and one of the very few worldwide.Τhe ELP as well as the whole project in question will be presented soon in a press conference.
