a famous greek composer, choir conductor and researcher died on 22/1/2013 in the age of 84 years. He has studied theology and western, Byzantine and electronic music. On his almost 300 works he has merged the Byzantine and Greek traditional music tradition with the contemporary style of the 20th century. The result has produced a very particular music language that is recognized as a new tendency in contemporary music scene. He was also a pioneer of electronic music but also a researcher of Byzantine Music paleography with many important discoveries. He was also involved in the Greek music life as conductor of many choirs but also as initiator of activities like the promotion of contemporary music and the reform of music studies in all levels. Adamis was co-founder and permanent collaborator of IEMA. His archive is available digitized at the Digital Music Archive of IEMA.
